Unpublished Papers
- Songs for Discussion in the EFL Classroom
A dissertation for Aston University, 1997. - Brainstorming Before Speaking Tasks
A simplified version of this paper appeared in the July 1998 edition of the Internet Tesl Journal. This unpublished paper describes a study undertaken to see the effects of brainstorming before speaking tasks in the language classroom. - Student Recordings in Oral Communication Assessment
This unpublished paper describes a study of the use of student recordings in oral communication assignement in a Japanese senior high school. The analysis of the transcripts and questionnaires gives a detailed picture of language development and the possibilities of using student recordings. A simplified version of this paper was published in the Chukyo University Kiyo in 1999. - Horslips, The Tain: Musical Interpretation of an Ancient Irish Tale
This paper was scheduled for publication in The Harp in Janaury 2001, but was withdrawn. - Musical Meanings
This is an unpublished piece which I cut from my Masters dissertation because it was off the central issues. It’s of interest in explaining the various meanings which arise in music as a combination of physiological, psychological, cognitive and musical factors.
