  1. Songs for Discussion in the EFL Classroom
    A dissertation for Aston University, 1997.
  2. Brainstorming Before Speaking Tasks
    A simplified version of this paper appeared in the July 1998 edition of the Internet Tesl Journal. This unpublished paper describes a study undertaken to see the effects of brainstorming before speaking tasks in the language classroom.
  3. Student Recordings in Oral Communication Assessment
    This unpublished paper describes a study of the use of student recordings in oral communication assignement in a Japanese senior high school. The analysis of the transcripts and questionnaires gives a detailed picture of language development and the possibilities of using student recordings. A simplified version of this paper was published in the Chukyo University Kiyo in 1999.
  4. Horslips, The Tain: Musical Interpretation of an Ancient Irish Tale
    This paper was scheduled for publication in The Harp in Janaury 2001, but was withdrawn.
  5. Musical Meanings
    This is an unpublished piece which I cut from my Masters dissertation because it was off the central issues. It’s of interest in explaining the various meanings which arise in music as a combination of physiological, psychological, cognitive and musical factors.
